You can personally browse by name, instrument, genre, and specialties to find the performers that will best fit what you are seeking via our online database. In many cases, our website provides photos and audio samples to help you make the best selection.

Since all of our musicians are able to set their own pricing and many are booked far in advance, it’s recommended to contact a small list of performers for the best available options. In most cases, the performer’s contact information should be part of their online profile, so you can reach them directly. If it’s not or you’d like further Information, please contact the Union office and we’d be happy to help you.

Any performer you find via our website service needs to be hired under a Union contract, which will vary depending on the needs of your event. Our Union contracts protect you as well as the musician by guaranteeing that you will get the music you want when you want it. The “peace of mind” of having a Union contract in place prior to your event is a primary benefit of using Union performers.

The appropriate contract should generally be furnished by the musician for you to sign prior to the event and be filed at the Union office for your protection. If there is any question as to the appropriate contract and its obligations, please contact our office for more information. The Musicians Union charges no additional fees or commissions to you for this service.

You can also contact our office directly from the start and a Union Referral Office Representative will also be available to help you with your search. A Representative can furnish you with a list of performers, including their contact information, that best meet your needs. We can send you the list via mail, email, or fax.

Because we are not a talent agency, it is your responsibility to contact the musicians directly, once we give you a list, to negotiate their fees and availability. However, our office can inform you of the appropriate Union contracts that will be needed for your particular event. To make sure you are prepared to hire a Union musician, we will be happy to furnish you with an appropriate contract to have on hand.

As additional service, we can also list your event in our Job Book, so that interested musicians may also contact you directly.
